Somethingโ€™s Going On

One day I was just playing around on the bass and came up with this bass line. It seemed to have a blues vibe with a little funk feeling to it too, so the lyrics just flowed out. I recorded it as a power trio, then added a small (tenor sax and trumpet) horn section, timbales and congas, and had to finish it off with a Blues Harp.

Feel About You

The song may seem like it's a person, but it's actually about pain medications. After a pretty invasive surgery had me on pain killers for weeks, I didn't realize I was developing a dependency on them. Luckily one of my doctors noticed what was going on and stopped it before it became a bigger issue. This song is about being free of something I didn't know was taking over until after I was free. This song features two acoustic guitars, sitar, steel drum, a ukulele U-Bass, and drums.

4000 Miles

I was challenged not to use a bass for this song, so I used a cello, timpani, and bajo quinto. A mellower song about star struck love.

The Note

I call this a "not in love anymore note" song. Just a little song I wrote and recorded with a couple acoustic guitars, a baritone guitar, bass, drums, and my great grandfather's banjo.

The video and song deal with the subject of post traumatic stress. Presented in dyslexic friendly fonts. Lyrics: The night is silent But the noise inside my ...

Pain Travels So Deep

This is a song I wrote while dealing with the mental affects of cancer treatment/recovery, while healing from the physical affects. The lyrics cover the very personal and raw emotions that can happen when facing your own mental health head on. A singer/songwriter feel, it was recorded with a nylon string, steel string acoustic, 12 string, Nashville tuned, and an electric, all weaving in an out as the song progresses.

First Single! Lyrics He lays alone, reflects on life He lays alone, thinkin' 'bout mistakes he's made He lays alone, and wonders why He can't find true love ...

Why Is My Bed Empty Tonight

I was playing around on the acoustic when a friend asked me "Why is my bed empty tonight?" It fit what I was playing and a song was born. Wasn't trying to sound country, but it kinda came out that way. As I walked around the studio I picked up fiddle (OK, it was the viola, my fingers were feeling fat that day), vihuela, didgeridoo, a jingle stick, and a vibraslap, and slipped them all into the track along with acoustic and electric PRS guitars, bass, and drums.
